2007/2008
Because of the dry summer, the Highway Department was able to complete a lot of work. One of the projects included the Bike Path Extension, also known as Rails to Trails. Please be considerate of others when using the trail. One major problem is the number of four wheelers and dirt bikes riding on the blacktop, as well as speeding. This is unacceptable and we are working along with the sheriff's department and will be strictly enforcing the rules of the path and in the park. Also please be reminded to pick up after your pet when on the trail or in the park. Thank you for all of your cooperation in this matter.
It will unfortunately will be plowing season soon and we will be prepping during the fall for our wonderful winter season. As usual, we will be putting stakes in the appropriate areas to help prevent some lawn damage and to guide my drivers during adverse situations. We cannot put stakes everywhere, so please trust us to put them in the right spot. Too many stakes makes it difficult to plow the snow safely from the roadways.
Also a few reminders:
- Please do not rake leaves into ditches, this will cause ditches to clog and overflow.
- Please remember, plowing and/or snow blowing driveways out into the road is illegal we will continually enforce this law throughout the season.
- And obey all parking rules.
If you have any questions, please call me at 625-8033 or e-mail me at jstowell@pendletonny.us
Sincerely,
Jeffrey R Stowell, Highway Superintendent
