The Assessor's Office

Who is the Assessor? The assessor is a local government official who estimates the value of real property within a city,town or village boundaries. The value is converted into an assessment, which is one component in the computation of real property tax bills.

Highlights

We believe there are people who applied for the Basic Star exemption years ago and have since turned 65. They may be entitled to the larger Enhanced Star exemption. If the homeowner becomes 65 by December 31, 2009, they should file an application, including a birth certificate and 2007 income tax return, in this office by

March 1, 2009.
